Support the development of the Battery and Power Electronic Protection Structures for xElectric Vehicles (xHEV). Key tasks are: Support the PMST Leader in the programme delivery activities. Requirements definition, including capturing cascaded Vehicle and System level requirements. Supplier evaluation and selection. Develop component to meet quality targets using tools such as including boundary diagram, FMEA, quality history reviews, robustness checklist. Work with CAE engineers to assess the components" strength and durability. Work with CAD engineers and Packaging engineers, to develop mechanical design of support structures and package them on vehicles with agreement from all stake holders. Develop and agree manufacturing and service strategies with manufacturing and service engineers. Manage component and investment cost targets. Manage suppliers" component delivery to support vehicle builds. Develop Design Verification Plan (DVP) and conduct Design Verification testing according to programme timing.

Skills Required:
Proven track record component development on major projects. Experience in structural component engineering (e.g. Body in White or Chassis) for automotive applications. Structural component design skills. Extensive knowledge in stamping and welding processes for Automotive industry. Knowledge of development of structures using composite materials. Experienced in conducting DV testing of structural components.

Skills Preferred:
Experience in delivery to GTDS and/or GPDS processes. Hands on experience in manufacturing environment.

Experience Required:
Mechanical design experience essential.

Education Required:
Educated to degree level, in a relevant field or subject.
