Hybrid Project Engineer

£25.60 - 25.60 per hour
Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for project delivery into the Hybrid Centre of Competence. Develop targets for the project ensuring close communications and collaboration between Attributes, Systems, Hybrid CoC, Powertrain, Vehicle Engineering/APC and Research functions Technical, Stakeholder and Peer review meetings for the projects including management of GTDS Gateway approval process. Ensure close communications and collaboration between Attributes, Systems, Hybrid COC, Powertrain, Electrical, Vehicle Programme, Marketing and Design and Research functions. Deliver technologies on-time and on budget with appropriate resource numbers, test properties and research vehicles. Support finance reviews to sign-off CORA's to support the project. Manage outsource work package. Define and manage delivery of agreed objectives to defined budget.
Skills Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deliver with minimum supervision. Able to lead the resolution of technical issues and development of technology, in the team environment and interface directly to the attribute teams, component areas, manufacturing and marketing, sales and service to represent the department. System delivery experience (concept to launch) in the field of hybrid or Power Train engineering. A strong technical knowledge of key powertrain technologies (i.e. engine and transmission technologies). A sound technical knowledge of key vehicle systems and whole vehicle engineering. Applicants must be qualified to degree level and computer literate. The role will require regular inter-site travel therefore, it is essential that candidates hold a valid UK Drivers licence. Fluent in use of Microsoft Office packages, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
Skills Preferred:
Experience of OEM Engineering Systems, especially WERS, GPDS, AIMS.
Experience Required:
Experience of Automotive Hybrid or Power Train Systems Delivery, preferably from Programme Concept/Kick Off to production. Working with and managing supplier responsibilities. Candidate must be enthusiastic, with a positive approach with the ability to proactively communicate within and outside of the department.
Education Required:
Educated to Degree or equivalent level, in a related Mechanical or Automotive discipline.
Additional Information:
The Role is principally based at Gaydon, but meeting support at other Midlands facilities and suppliers will be required.
