Our client is an established British
based manufacturer in stainless steel and is looking to recruit a Production
Controller who will be responsible for controlling the day to day Goods In,
Production Scheduling, Goods Out and related duties as follows:- 

• 
  To ensure that all orders are despatched with
  the correct documentation and everything is duly checked - eg Test certificates
  (in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Director and Quality Assurance
  Assistant).
• 
  To work closely with the Assistant Buyer to
  ensure all incoming stock is allocated, identified and correctly booked to
  sales orders, and any material requiring further processing is correctly dealt
  with.
• 
  To update customers on the progress of orders,
  ensure orders are despatched on time and the service is well organised and
  appears seamless to customers.
• 
  To assist in identifying ways to ensure the
  company is as competitive as possible in terms of delivery times and production
  timescales, and in-house work is carried out to customer specifications.
• 
  To organise deliveries in and out, to book
  these in/out, taking into account workloads and work outstanding. To use
  internal or external carriers as appropriate to keep delivery times and ensure
  pricing competitiveness.

Personal
Attributes

• 
  A highly organized, hard-working individual
  who can keep track of numerous ongoing orders at all times.
• 
  Experience of the steel industry.  Experience of stainless steel and/or flanges
  and pipe fittings would be an advantage.
• 
  An engineer, or someone who has a good
  understanding of manufacturing processes.
• 
  A team player and a strong character, who can
  liaise with and prioritise the different demands of the sales, quality
  assurance, manufacturing and warehouse teams.
• 
  An articulate and confident individual, with
  good telephone manner who will speak to customers, maintain good working
  relationships and ensure all issues are dealt with efficiently.
• 
  IT literate.
