We seek a IT Analyst for an initial 12-month contract based in Peterborough.

THE COMPANY:
Perkins Engines is part of the UK Caterpillar Group located in Peterborough. They are the leading supplier of off-highway diesel and gas engines for the agricultural, material handling, general industrial and construction sectors.

THE ROLE:

As IT Anaylst, you will be responsible for working both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications. Develop professional network and leadership skills, assisting in the creation and support of IT Solutions that enable our success. Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working directly on application / technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions.
- Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components.
- Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure.
- Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support.

THE PERSON:

Applicants need the following skills and competencies:
Knowledge of the latest technology in programming languages, computing hardware and software and current development processes and tools. Contribute real value by developing, integrating, and/or supporting in-house and purchased applications or infrastructure solutions in order to solve business problems. Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following business processes (Preferred):
1. Supply Chain.
2. Manufacturing.
3. Product Introduction.
4. Product Support.

Education/Experience:
Computer-related or Engineering-related College or University Degree, Some IT job-related experiences, IT experience related to programming, integration or infrastructure - preferred, and Computer related or Engineering related Masters degree - preferred.
