Our Yorkshire-based client is a global Tier 2 designer and manufacturer of advanced electronic and electromechanical products for the automotive industry including control units, sensors, monitors and motors


Main Duties
The main responsibilities of the role are to drive quality improvements from within the company. Using systematic identification and elimination of both, process defects and variation using problem solving and statistical analysis techniques. To support the production organisation in achieving right first time every time delivery performance


Job description
-Support the customer liaison function in analysing all customer returns. Use standardised problem solving methods to reach a PCA within the defined time period.
-Identify through a process of systematic working any concerns within the production area that are preventing key objectives been achieved, use standardised 8D approach to contain, and close any concerns found.
-Using a systematic approach drive to permanent resolution any concerns affecting scrap from within the manufacturing area
-Predominantly plans and monitors activity on a scale of weekly, monthly and yearly.
-Expected to make recommendations to management regarding component quality or to eliminate problems.
-Support all internal continuous improvement projects
-Will be responsible for decision making in the absence of supervisors, when system, component or product quality does not meet with company or customer standards.
-Responsible for maintaining all financial outgoings in line with agreed departmental budgets.
-Give advice and technical support to production supervision, technical services and customer on all aspects relating to component manufacture and process quality, so strong internal and external communication required with the role.


Key skills and experience
-Candidates should be HND / Degree qualified in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
-Knowledge and experience in Quality tools, MSA, SPC, FMEA, Statistics
-Previous experience of the Automotive manufacturing sector would be preferred
-Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement techniques.
-Strong IT skills.
-Good Analytical and practical problem solving ability
