Birmingham, West Midlands, England

We are recruiting for a EHS Officer on a 3-month contract based in Castle Bromwich.

As EHS Officer, you will not only deliver sustainable improvements to the site but also develop a cultural change in the mindset of all employees. This will embrace all aspects and matters relating to Plant Safety, Health and Environmental Management whilst integrating a common sense approach which is integrated into the business needs.
Duties to include
- Implementation support of management systems
- Workplace inspection and auditing
- Risk assessment
- Training and coaching of leaders and team members
- Incident investigation support
- Reporting of EHS metrics

Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Working with Plant management to identify gaps in the EHS management at Plant level.
- Monitor and report on accident management via Acctrac.
- Investigate causes of accidents and recommend/implement improvement activities.
- Maintain the Plant records of mandatory training (FLT, Crane, First Aid, Manual Handling) to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Processing Accident and Environmental statistics for the Plant(s).
- Producing monthly reports for all aspects of EHS for the Plant(s).
- Upkeep of relevant standards and legislation
- Maintenance of Plant files for consents, authorisations, fire certificates, COSHH registers audits, etc.

Applicants are required to have experience with:
- NEBOSH NGC or Level 3 equivalent
- IEMA Cert of equivalent
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills
- Coaching and training experience
- Manufacturing safe systems and operational experience
- Auditor trained for OHSAS18001 and ISO14001
