A functional safety engineer is required to work on contract for our client who specialise in luxury cars, the position will be based in the West Midlands.
To work in a team of functional safety engineers who perform functional safety lifecycle activities in compliance with ISO26262 on automotive systems with responsibilities for particular systems. To support other non-specialist staff performing functional safety activities and perform confirmation Reviews on functional safety work products produced by other staff.
Our client requires an individual to have experience of the following:
-Experience of Automotive systems or other embedded systems
-Ability to perform function safety lifecycle activities, particularly:
oHazard identification and classification
oSafety requirements derivation
oDesign analysis
oVandV planning and safety case writing
Skills that would be ideal include:
-Knowledge of ISO26262 or IEC61508 or equivalent standards in the railway, defence or nuclear sectorsbr
-Systems engineering
-Experience of using systems engineering tools, e.g. SysML
