Facilities Maintenance Engineer

To work with Maintenance Workshop Supervisor helping coordinate maintenance tasks within the Facilities & Site Services department umbrella, including testing operations, design factory prototype equipment whilst also maintaining the site upkeep for all Mechanical and Electrical and general site problems. This will run in conjunction with planning and scheduling a preventative maintenance schedules for onsite maintenance activities.

Skills Required:
Must have Facilities Management knowledge with an approved apprenticeship or equivalent experience. At least five years experience in a similar Maintenance background for Research and Development environment, or Site Services function.

Skills Preferred:
Flexibility is key in this role as this will include liaising with Facilities & Site Services customers across the site, managing their expectations and organizing review meetings with the zone leaders to give status on current and planned works. Must be able to work methodically and be able to produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements for planned works. Health & Safety qualification would be preferred.

Experience Required:
Working knowledge of building services and infrastructure within a similar site environment.

Experience Preferred:
Good proficiency using Microsoft packages including MS Project. Experience of Building Energy Management Systems & CMMS systems.

Education Required:
Good standard of Technical qualification to at least HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a Maintenance bias.

Additional Information:
May be required to work at both Gaydon & Whitley sites.
