REQUIREMENTS: Generation of Reliability and Safety programme plans and agreement of such programmes with the project and the customer, commensurate with the requirements of the DEF STAN 00-40 series of standards or DEF-STAN 00-56, as applicable. Responsible for the generation, promotion and realization of the stated strategy on a given project. Conduct a series of system and sub-system reliability activities in support of this plan during all lifecycle phases. Specific responsibilities of this role include working with systems team in order to demonstrate satisfaction of safety and reliability requirements.
DESCRIPTION: Safety and Reliability Engineer for this world leader in Missiles and Missile systems, is a multi-national group with over 10,000 employees in France, the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.

The role is based in Hertfordshire and is commutable from Hatfield, Hitchin, Royston and Biggleswade.
VAC REQ :Specific: Demonstrable knowledge of the application of UK and international Safety and Reliability assessment processes specific to Defence projects inc Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Event Tree Analysis (ETA), Failure Modes and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Functional Failure Analysis (FFA) Reliability predictions, Safety Case, Hazops, Hazans and ALARP.

General: Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary\multi-national team. Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt message content depending on audience or stakeholder set.
Ability to discern the key technical, commercial, and programme influences from available noisy information. Ability to make, and communicate cost, schedule adherence, and technical performance trade-offs. Systems thinker and systems engineering experience.
