Principal / Senior Electronics Engineer - Customer Service

Our Client is seeking a Principal/Senior Electrical Engineer in support of their Customer Services business unit primarily working on products for military aerospace test solutions.

Key responsibilities:
- Generating new designs for a variety of bespoke military and aerospace testing projects.
- Taking ownership of/contributing to the electronics design, testing and support aspects of new product designs.
- Implementing product enhancements and other change requests as necessary to support existing products.
- Working with the wider team and the customer to capture and derive product requirements.
- Liaising with all other areas of the business as necessary to guarantee project success
- Estimating and then working to budgets and schedules.
- Assisting with initial build, qualification and trouble-shooting.
- Assisting with the drive for continuous improvement.

Essential skills:
- Excellent broad knowledge of Analogue, Digital, Programmable Logic and Microprocessor design techniques.
- Ability to generate new concepts and ideas.
- Able to demonstrate an excellent application of engineering science.
- Good design, simulation, analytical, mathematical and report writing skills.
- Relevant experience in the design of small signal analogue/digital electronic products.
- Experience of designing electronics for measurement and instrumentation.
- Good knowledge of engineering materials and their associated manufacturing processes.
- PCB layout techniques for signal integrity and EMC.

Additional beneficial skills:
- Analogue or FPGA design speciality.
- Familiarity with intrinsic safety, thermal and environmental design concepts
- Experience of the design of ruggedized test equipment to EMC and ATEX standards.
- Understanding of harness design and manufacture.
- Experience of basic project management within an engineering environment.
