Our client is a leading independent provider of product engineering, research, testing information and certification to the worldwide automotive industry and is based in Warwickshire.

They currently have an ongoing contract opportunity for an Engineer, to support the growth of the Electrical Vehicles (EV\HEV) department.

The role will be split between sites in Warwickshire and Basildon, so regular travel will be necessary.

Reporting to the Principal Engineer, the individual will be responsible for:

* Providing technical and engineering know how, to successfully deliver projects on behalf of the department.
* Providing engineering support to EV and battery test department at site in Basildon
* Contributing to new project proposals
* Providing technical support to other team members
* Supporting project review meetings with customers
* Ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Electrical / Electronic Degree (may accept Mechatronics or Automotive or Aerospace degree dependant on experience)
* Electrical or Hybrid Vehicle (EV\HEV) experience
* Technical background (biased towards electrical and electronics engineering)
* Experience working in in the Automotive industry for at least 3 years.
* Well organised with good communications skills.
* Experience of delivering complex electrical / electronic projects.
* Experience in writing technical specifications at a component and system level.
* Experience in Automotive Electrical product or system design
* Experience in Automotive Electrical testing.
* Experience in writing and presenting test reports
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications. i.e they must be able to create and maintain records in Microsoft Excel and proficient in producing tracking charts and presenting data in PowerPoint presentations

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:

* MEng /MSc Electronics
* Have a broad understanding of Electronics and Controls
* Knowledge of ISO 26262
* Able to produce timing plans in Microsoft project
* Experience of improving processes and have a record of delivering improvements in a customer focused role.
* Able to bring a technical specialism to the team
