Our client is a precision R and D manufacturing facility with links to motor racing.

They are currently to recruit a contract Manufacturing Engineer to plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing processes.

Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, the individual will be responsible for the following:

* Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods
* Utilise knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production, assembly methods and quality control standards.
* Ensure the manufacturing/assembly areas are fully operational on a daily basis and are delivering to the safety, quality and cost metrics.
* Liaise with Senior Manufacturing Engineer on a daily basis to review tasks and priorities and targets related to quality, delivery and cost.
* Liaison with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams on a weekly basis to review capabilities, develop new processes and cost reduction activities.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering
* Held an ME position previously, within automotive and/or aerospace industries.
* Exposed to a broad/diverse range of products within the automotive and/or aerospace industries.
* Familiar with the use of CAM software (Hypermill or similar)
* Familiar with the use of CNC simulation software (Vericut or similar)
* Good team player with strong communication skills, able to take an authoritative approach to engineering and manufacturing feedback
* Logical thinker
* Must be able to work in a fast paced pressurised environment and deliver projects on time
* Must be able to manage competing priorities and deliver processes that are right first time.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:

* Good working knowledge of MS Project and MS Excel
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques
* Experience of a rapid change environment
* MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering
* Able to forge relationships with external experts to help develop all internal processes
