Principle Systems Engineer - Automotive - Park Royal London - £Neg

A degree qualified Principle Systems Engineer with proven experience in developing real time systems and an embedded application field with an understanding of diesel application and associated fuel injection equipment is required for this leading automotive company based in London.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Managing the development of complex real-time electronic control systems for use with diesel fuel injection equipment.
Ability to develop independently a product (with adequate support from other teams).
Provide plans and report progress to Project Manager and Systems Manager.
Manage a systems development team (when required).

System Design
Capture and analyse customer requirement (this usually involves meetings with the customer)
Define and review system requirements including sensor/actuators and control strategies.
Model the system to verify the control strategy with the customer and the S/W team
Produce and review specifications allowing software engineers to forward engineer and test the intended production code.
Produce executable specifications using Matlab/Simulink and related toolsets
Support/ownership hazard analysis, FMEA and fault tree analysis.
Apply/reuse strategies developed by other groups to customer applications.
Interface with h/w team (PDD/CRD) in terms of customer requirements

Testing
Create and execute system level validation testing.
Participate in software review, debug and analysis
Support/organise use of resources for system testing and validation
Support production software test and validation.
