Financial Controller

Our Client designs, develops, and manufactures powertrain components for use within the motorsport industry. They are currently seeking to recruit a Financial Controller on a 2 year contract basis.

Reporting to the Head of Controlling, the individual will be responsible for the following:

- Provide financial control and business partnering to department heads, and budget holders.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts and provide transparency for overhead and payroll and benefit costs and investment.
- Build relationships and establish channels of communication in order to obtain meaningful assumptions on which to base budgets and forecasts.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of the business and programmes such that assumptions and actual results can be critically appraised and challenged.
- Provide transparency of actuals on a monthly basis and to tight reporting timelines and support stakeholders in identifying countermeasures to address issues which pose a risk to the budgets.
- Challenge the status quo and look to continually improve methods and processes.
- Support business partners with a view to evolving and improving business processes with particular focus on cost accuracy and transparency within SAP
- Daily liaison with the Head of Controlling to align activities and provision of information
- Regular liaison with Company Accountant and Finance Director to supply relevant financial information


Essential Requirements:

- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
- Proactive approach to business partnering together with continually improving methods.
- Experience of influencing and challenging senior stakeholders.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong management accounting experience within an operations based business environment.
- Experience of business process improvement and driving through change.
- Solution driven and focused.
- Not afraid to challenge senior stakeholders.
- Is a determined contributor who will go the extra mile to support a world class team achieve its objectives on and off of the track


Desirable Attributes:

- Good knowledge of SAP and in particular the Finance and Investment Management modules
- Experience of presenting to senior stakeholders including Management Team level.
- Experience gained within an engineering and manufacturing environment (preferably automotive or aerospace
