World renowned manufacturer of luxury sports cars who is looking for a Switch Engineer to Design and Develop new and modified switchgear across all vehicles.
Manage component suppliers to design and develop switches and switch panels from concept through to production.
Manage the commodity to ensure that it delivers all of its Engineering Release and Concern metrics.
Manage the commodity to meet all program function, cost and weight targets.
Develop with the assistance of suppliers and the Quality department, robust DFMEA s and DVP test plans; ensure these are cascaded to the appropriate functions.
Run regular PMST reviews with all of the appropriate areas of the business and manage the deliverables to meet the program milestones.
Manage the commodity CAD packaging through supplier reviews.
Develop commodity timing plans and ensure the project timing supports the milestones.
Generate presentation material to be delivered to Senior Management.
Support vehicle builds and provide support with problem solving ( 8D process).
Support activities into weight saving by use of new materials using the supplier where necessary to assist.
Ensure the latest features and technologies are used within the budgetary constraints of the vehicle programs.
Engineering Degree or Equivalent Qualification.
At least 5 years experience in automotive switchgear design and development.
Extensive knowledge of A surface componentry.
A good understanding of switchgear haptics.
Good Experience and knowledge of vehicle electrical systems.
Experience of project managing switchgear suppliers.
Project managed new or modified switchgear successfully into production.
Working knowledge of Relevant Regulations and approvals.
