Reporting to the Commercial Director and working in a small team at the company s Maintenance Repair and Overhaul business, the Senior Commercial Officer will be responsible for the preparation of proposals, cost estimates and contracts and with their compliance with BBA Aviation governance requirements, and will conduct negotiations and day to day liaison with customers in relation to their orders.
In addition the Senior Commercial Officer will have day-to-day responsibility for monitoring and accepting the company s intake of orders ensuring that orders received conform to the appropriate terms and conditions. The postholder shall be a member of the Commercial team and may have secondary responsibilities for selected activities at other sites.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities (but not limited to):

1. Act as day to day point of contact
2. Maintain and enhance, with the Sales function, the company s commercial agreements.
3. Preparation of draft contractual documents and negotiation with customers to close new transactions, amend contracts and resolve disputes.
4. Prepare cost estimates, particularly in relation to items charges over and above standard pricing.
5. Liaise with customers to resolve payment issues in cooperation with the company s Finance team.
6. Preparation of documentation for relevant corporate approvals of transactions.
7. Provision of assistance to the Commercial Director and with the preparation and maintenance of Commercial Policies and Procedures.
Candidates should demonstrate:
1. Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
2. Excellent written English.
3. An appetite for face to face customer interaction and the maturity for some autonomous working.
4. Pragmatism and the ability to think laterally to resolve problems.
5. Strong team-working skills.
6. Technical awareness.

Requirements

University Degree at 2:1 or better, preferably in a relevant subject area.
Several years experience in an aerospace or similar environment, in a commercial role would be desirable.
