Instrument & Control Engineering Team Leader

The successful candidate will be responsible to lead a team of professional Instrument and Control Engineers to optimise refinery plant performance by improvements to Instrument and Control availability, safety and efficiency by continuous improvement to working practices through standards, technology and group networks.
The position requires the candidate to provide long term vision for Instrumentation and Control to the whole refinery, liaising with business development, advanced control, projects, process engineering, production operations and maintenance, production planning and other engineering disciplines and specialists.
To identify new initiatives for improvement and actively promotes the project improvement process.
To manage the activities of the Instrument and Control engineering team.
To be accountable for the training and development of the Instrument Area Engineers, Analyser Engineer, SIS Engineer and DCS and DCS Specialist Engineers.
To be responsible for setting and monitoring progress against set objectives for Instrument and Control Engineering Team.
To acts as a coach and mentor for developing graduate Instrument and Control Engineers.
To lead the Instrument and Control Functional Work Group (FWG) activities. As the FWG Leader, is responsible for monitoring performance of refinery wide Equipment Maintenance Strategies (EMS) for Instrumentation and Control equipment.
Broad experience petrochemical instrument installations and maintenance techniques. (Degree level qualification or comparable; Chartered status preferred)
Proficient in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to collate and analyse data.
Ability to work closely within a multifunctional team recognising and balancing area needs against functional requirements.
Demonstrated competency as defined by the Refinery Professional competency maps for Levels H - G.
