An Automotive Software Diagnostics Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the West Midlands.

Position Description:
To support Electrical Integration Engineer
•System design and analysis
•Download and testing of software
•Debug and fault investigation of vehicles
•Project planning/timing for software/function delivery
•Support the electrical side of vehicle builds
Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Ability to use diagnostic and software download tools such as canalysers and asl. Knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures, CAN, MOST and LIN buses. Ability to test and diagnose electrical faults on vehicles including software problems. Ability to generate timing programs covering software and function delivery.
Skills Preferred:
Understanding of car configuration files, and manufacturing software download techniques such as vcats. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Project.
Details
Experience Required:
Must have experience of automotive electrical systems and how to debug them. Must have experience of software download and the tools used. Must have knowledge and experience of CAN/MOST/LIN bus analysis tools.
Experience Preferred:
Knowledge of OEM internal processes and procedures.
Education Required:
Preferably educated to HND/Degree level or have equivalent experience.
Additional Information:
Will be required to support vehicle builds/debug at other sites so needs to have mobility.
