A High/Low Voltage Hybrid EDS Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
Description
As part of the EDS team in Hybrids Department Low Voltage and High Voltage EDS for OEM Hybrid Electric Vehicle projects. Liaise with tier1 and tier2 suppliers, component engineers, technical specialists and engineers from Electrical Department to define OEM's EDS requirements. Also work with packaging team and CAD engineers to ensure EDS is packaged and routed successfully. Work with purchasing to ensure system cost are compatible with programme affordability. Work with manufacturing and service to ensure their requirements can be met. Work with external partners to develop component strategy.
Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Electrical Distribution System (EDS) - wiring, connectors, fuses, shields and supports. EDS development process - circuit definition, device transmittals, harness packaging, harness protection, manufacturing and service constraints. Supplier interface - manage suppliers' delivery to meet technical, timing and cost targets. EDS Component development to Job 1. EDS Problem investigation and problem solving.
Skills Preferred:
Good organisation and communication skills essential.

Experience Required:
Previous EDS delivery experienced essential.
Experience Preferred:
HV EDS experience preferred.
Education Required:
HND or degree qualified in an engineering or science based course.
