Electrical Design Engineer
Swindon, Gloucestershire, England

A major automotive company focused on providing high quality products, at their state of the art production facility, are now looking to recruit permanent Electrical Design Engineers.

This role is based in the Wiltshire area, close to the M4, and is commutable from Cirencester, Bristol, Stroud and Bath.
Electrical design of manufacturing equipment; including risk assessment, specification, quotation, hardware and software design
Software design: HMI, PLC and safety.
Hardware design: schematic, panel layout, cable harnesses and parts lists.
Supervision of contract design engineers.
Project planning and management.
Supplier Support, development and control.
Production Support / Problem Countermeasure.
CE marking of equipment.

Essential:
Minimum of 2 years design experience in related industry.
Design of automated manufacturing/special purpose equipment.
Proficient in AutoCAD.
Proficient in PLC programming.
Specification and design of schematic circuits.
Commissioning and maturation of manufacturing equipment.
Strong communication skills at all levels.
Demonstrable experience of problem solving and implementation of countermeasures.
Flexible approach to work with a willingness to work weekends if required.

Desirable:
Degree / HND in relevant engineering discipline.
Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical.
Design of HMI screens, preferably Proface, Omron and Mitsubishi (not SCADA).
Proficient in Omron and Mitsubishi.
BIW process knowledge and experience.
Report writing and presentation skills.
Large and Small Project Control / Supervision.
Machinery directive / machine building knowledge.
CE marking and requirement knowledge.
Design risk assessment capability.
Demonstrable experience of successful project target completion.
