Catia V5 Design Engineer - (Automotive Exterior Trim )

Our client is one of the world`s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Established for more than 60 years its product line-up has, more recently, moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles.

They are currently seeking to recruit a team of Principal CAD Engineers within Exterior Trim for a key vehicle project.

The team will be responsible for the following areas:

- Exterior Trim Ornamentation Systems (bumper systems, under-body protection systems, heat shields, wheel arch liners etc)
- Exterior Plastic Mouldings (leaf screen, pillar trims, badges, brightware etc)
- Exterior Trim Wiper Systems
- Exterior Trim Glazing Systems

Duties to include:

- Feasibility and detailed design (3D Modelling) engineering of exterior components
- Maintaining master section book
- Development of concepts to solve issues prior to engineering release
- Perform DMU checks using Catia V5 and Vismockup
- Maintenance and release of exterior trim systems within PLM system

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

- Degree qualified or similar qualification
- Minimum of 5 years automotive experience is essential.
- Strong numeracy, literacy and logical reasoning skills
- Detailed knowledge and experience of relevant exterior trim systems
- Demonstrate depth of knowledge in a variety of production and prototype manufacturing methods
- Ability to work with local and remote colleagues
- Effective team member contributing to improvements and high customer service
- Flexibility to apply themselves to a wide variety of tasks as required
