Principal Engineer - Exterior Trim

Our client is one of the world`s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Established for more than 60 years its product line-up has, more recently, moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles.

They currently have an ongoing contract opportunity for a Principal Engineer for Ornamentation for a key vehicle project.

The individual will be based predominantly at their site in Warwickshire. Reporting to the Lead Engineer, the individual will be responsible for the following:

- Deliver exterior trim ornamentation system components on time and to budget on the X4 programme
- Lead the exterior trim ornamentation system team
- Drive closure of issues and establish cost/ timing impact
- Support the engineering deliverables through to engineering sign off of the vehicle
- Manage engineering ETRS and engineering change tracker
- Management of parts procurement, manufacture and assembly

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

- Degree qualified or similar qualification
- Minimum of 5 years automotive experience is essential.
- Strong numeracy, literacy and logical reasoning skills
- Detailed knowledge and experience of ornamentation/exterior trim systems e.g. pillar trims, leaf screens, badging etc
- Demonstrate depth of knowledge in a variety of production and prototype manufacturing methods
- Ability to work with local and remote colleagues.
- Capable of leading a project element with support from more senior staff when necessary
- Effective team member contributing to improvements and high customer service
- Flexibility to apply themselves to a wide variety of tasks as required
