A Shift Engine Test Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Dunton, Basildon, Essex.

Position Description:
Shift Engine Test Engineer
Liaise with requesting engineers to determine test requirements. Provide test instructions to test room operators to ensure correct execution of tests to customer requirements. Test bed configuration and set-up, including test cycle development. Assessment of test results and prep of tests . Test planning, scheduling and optimisation of test bed resources, including attendance at appropriate meetings. Engineering support for engine instrumentation. Raise concern reports as necessary. Resolution of test bed and engine related problems, including use of appropriate diagnostic tools (MCS Gredi, ATI Vision etc). Specification and set-up of portable test equipment.
Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Experience in a testing related activity, engine test experience
You will work one week days and one week lates finishing no later than midnight.
Skills Preferred:
Good communication and team working skills.
Details
Experience Required:
Candidate to have been in a test role, plus good knowledge of IC engines.
Experience Preferred:
Working knowledge of AVL Puma test bed systems would be an advantage.
Education Required:
Degree in mechanical engineering or related subject preferred.
Education Preferred:
HNC/D
