Position Description:

To work as a member of ITO Data Centre Facilities Team providing DCC co-ordination and project support. To work with internal and external dependent project teams, developing relationships, monitoring migrations and decommissioning schedules, risks and impact analysis, issues management to enable the consolidation project to move forward. Assist in the removal of Data Centre IT Infrastructure, controlling methods of work, considering risks to ensure business operations are not disrupted. Assist in decommissioning of IT Servers, cabinets, cabling and associated devices to prepare for building closure....
...Assist in IT disposal, organisation of decommissioned server storage area in preparation for disposal, cataloguing IT services and devices, taking equipment through disposal process adhering to IT Policy and WEEE Directive. Create and maintain equipment decommission forecast reports. Track decommissioning activity to ensure equipment has been removed in a timely manner. Day to day planning and completion and control documentation. Assist in weekly status reports, project schedules and reports. Day to day organising meetings, producing agenda, taking minutes etc.



Skills Required:

Good IT knowledge of server equipment, cabinets and cabling with support skills and experience to identify opportunities and risks. Ability to work through influencing the work of others not in directing responsibility. Good knowledge of IT services and products. Good communication skills. Team player. Ability to manage and map interdependencies among facility services, compute platforms, finance, and service delivery. Good working knowledge of MS office applications including in-depth excel skills. An understanding of project management principles.
Skills Preferred:

Desirable to have IT Data Centre support experience with all aspects of Data Centre facility operations; facility design, space management, space provisioning, compute platforms, networking, power and cooling, service delivery. IT infrastructure (servers, cabling - power and communications) knowledge is desirable. Understanding of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.



Experience Required:

Good IT experience of server equipment, cabinets and cabling with support skills. Experience of IT services and products.



Education Required:

GCSE or equivalent.
