Our Client is a diversified global association of businesses with over a 1.5bn Euro turnover. With interests predominantly in the design, manufacture and marketing of value added steel and niche engineering products. Also new product development, materials testing services, interior design, financial services, energy, medical products and private equity investment. They are currently seeking a Project Design Manager to work out of the West Midlands facility.
New product development incorporating component and tool design, project management and sales.
Responsibilities:
Determine tooling set up of new components.
Obtaining quotations.
Controlling customer drawings and CAD.
Liaising with customers.
Liaising with machinists and toolmakers.
Design Tooling from customer drawings and/or CAD models, determine component tooling design.
Liaise with sub-contractors for tooling, machining, prototypes of new products.
Order new tooling and liaise with toolmakers regarding design and timing up to delivery.
Lead NPI meetings and maintain minutes.
Checking revised customer drawings and obtain quotations for modifications.
Liaise with customers regarding new projects (design, timing, modifications).
Lead Problem Solving teams using Magma simulation.
Support sales function where appropriate.

Essential Skills:
Full working knowledge of Solid Works CAD (3D), (2D). Magma Simulation Software desireable.
