Interior / Exterior Product Leader

Our client is a leading prestige automotive manufacturer. An exciting contract opportunity has arisen within the area of Product Development.
- Responsible for prioritising and steering of work within the module (area of the vehicle- in this case, focussing on the interior and exterior trim of the car) to achieve module quality targets (internal audit results and external warranty).
- View of whole process chain through to end customer within dealerships to understand quality issues.
- Liaising with cross-functional team of engineering, supplier quality and production to drive solutions to problems.
- Use of line trials and analysis rigs to validate engineering changes as well as a good understanding of the engineering change process.
- Understanding of the launch process to ensure any model year updates do not negatively impact module.
- An enthusiastic person with an Engineering background preferably educated to degree level.
- An experienced individual with preferably (though not essential) a good understanding of vehicle body engineering and the automotive industry.
- Capable of understanding the principle of motor vehicle construction, particularly final assembly.
- Capable of evaluating engineering designs for Body Engineering components with particular emphasis on design for manufacture, materials and product quality.
- Capable of evaluating detailed analysis of Body Engineering functional and cosmetic issues.
- Proficient in the use of quality tools e.g. 5 Whys, Ishikawa, SPC.
- Capable of presenting complex analysis in both written and verbal format.
- Good analytical skills applied to hardware and data.
- Good IT capabilities with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly pick up other IT applications such as internal BMW systems.
