A Camera System Test and Development Engineer is required to work on contract for our client who specialise in luxury cars, the position will be based in the West Midlands.

This role works alongside the existing camera team taking responsibility for the design verification plan and the offshore hardware in the loop team. This position has been introduced recognising the complexity between the camera system and the other electrical systems on the vehicle. The person who fills this role will work directly for the Camera Group Leader. The responsibilities include:
- To develop current in house design validation plan/methods.
- Manage offshore hardware in the loop team to carry out system testing of all camera systems.
- Development of generic test plans and test methods according to the functional/system requirements. These then need to support the programme cycle plan.
- Supervising the supplier component environmental testing.
- Conduct and support vehicle/system testing continuously improving the accuracy and coverage of test methods.
- Ensure failure mode analysis/robustness specifics are included in the test plans.
- Test/sign-off reports generated documenting results and test setup specifics.
- Issue identification, investigation and escalation.

Skills Required:
Ability to develop electrical system test plans. To be conversant in Matlab/Simulink/Control desk/DVP test simulation. Simulation and automated testing. Vehicle diagnostic skills, including ability to use laptop-based diagnostic tools e.g. Canalyser. Ability to assimilate and process large quantities of data. Highly organised. Good communication. Able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision. Creative in solving problems.

Skills Preferred:
Knowledge and experience of OEM processes and methods (e.g. AIMS, FMS). Working knowledge of automotive camera/vision systems, vehicle system architecture, component design and validation. Full and clean driving licence.

Experience Required:
Applicants will have significant experience in an electrical system test engineering role. Electrical systems engineering experience.

Experience Preferred:
Experience with vehicle test tools e.g. CANalyser, dSpace, Simulink etc.

Education Required:
Educated to degree level, in a relevant field or subject.

Additional Information:
The role will commence in Whitley Engineering Centre, and then will transfer to Gaydon Engineering Centre when the department moves across.
