Position Description:
Lead design reviews, plan and carry out testing and support launch activity on plant to prevent squeak and rattle issues on new model and model year programmes.
1. Lead design reviews across all areas of the vehicle but with focus on the interior.
2. Plan vehicle requirements for physical test and ensure provision for these within the programme plan.
3. Plan testing and book facilities to carry this out.
4. Manage the SandR RMDV deck of requirements for each programme.
5. Complete NVH test reports for all tests.
6. Carry out design review work with all relevant design areas driving prevention and solution implementation with the design engineers and suppliers.
7. Raise AIMS as required on all issues through both virtual and physical phases of the programmes.
8. Support the SandR launch team on plant with vehicle testing, root cause analysis. Provide status reports for NMLR launch review meetings and attend as required to report out to senior management.
9. Lead root cause analysis and solution development.
10. Involve other members of the SandR team as needed.
11. Ensure new lesson learnt are recorded in the SandR Team data base.
12. Raise design rules and design requirements as needed.

Skills Required:
Good team player, able to lead a cross functional team of design, development, and manufacturing associates to identify and resolve SandR design and manufacturing issues. Good background in general engineering methods and standards. Experience of problem solving tools e.g. Six Sigma, etc. and quality engineering processes e.g. FMEA, Form 4 mapping, DOE, etc. Strong communication and presentation skills to all levels, particularly senior management. The ability to achieve results in an efficient manner, making effective use of all resources available within the company and outside. Creativity and innovation, and an ability and willingness to cooperate in cross-functional teams. Good data analysis and PC skills. CATIA and Digibuck experience to carry out design reviews. Full UK driving licence. Experienced vehicle assessor including right and left hand drive and manual and automatic vehicles. Able to pass company medical for climatic testing. Able to work under pressure in the manufacturing environment against tight deadlines and targets. Able to manage multiple tasks. Prepared to work evenings and weekends if required. Flexibility to travel and work at other OEM sites, particularly during launch when this will be necessary for many months.

Experience Required:
Experience of SandR testing and root cause in environmental four post rigs and on test tracks is desirable. Experience of working in the manufacturing environment preferably with the motor industry. Ideally experienced in AIMS and Product Change Management.

Experience Preferred:
Experience of working with an OEM automotive company within a Squeak and Rattle quality improvement team. Six sigma training and experience.
Education Required:
Engineering Degree or suitable and relevant experience.
