A Smartphone Application Development Engineer is required to work on contract for our client who specialise in luxury cars, the position will be based in the West Midlands.
The Smartphone App Developer will be tasked with producing working prototypes and production of next generation, internet-connected infotainment features that will be linked to Smartphones. This will integrating both consumer electronics devices and built in vehicle technologies, in line with our client's mobile app strategy. Being part of a 'future vision' team, the engineer will have the opportunity to work on pioneering projects, embracing new and emerging technologies.
Skills Required:
Working knowledge of one or more of the following OS: Linux, QNX, Meego, or Tizen. Analytical approach to problem solving. Ability to communicate clearly, confidently and be part of a team. Interface with internal, external suppliers and developers. Innovative mind set, ability to portray future vision/roadmap. Interest in CE devices and an appreciation of integrating technology into premium automotive products.
Skills Preferred:
Familiarity with cloud computing paradigm, i.e. software as a service, integrating cloud-based services into mobile platforms/embedded systems. Knowledge of mobile App API and SDK creation and deployment. Experience of working in an Agile software development environment. Experience of using version control systems (e.g. Git, SVN, AccuRev) as part of the software development tool chain. Working knowledge of MOST/CAN/Ethernet network tools. Good use of information to build and present a point of view. Embedded (Automotive) systems background. Experience of using or developing UI/UX to ensure ease of operation and a good customer experience.
Experience Required:
Development experience using:- Apple iOS SDK's. Experience of using and integrating native and Web Services APIs into mobile applications. Experience of end-to-end user-oriented application design. Web development experience, including working knowledge of one or more: MVC abstraction, HTML5 and CSS3, MySQL or equivalent data storage systems. Experience of writing system requirements, including use of one or more: UML/SysML and DOORS.
Education Required:
Educated to degree level in either Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT or Engineering.
