Principal Engineer (Development) - Automotive - Kent - £Neg

Principal Engineer is required to develop initial concepts through to the 'proof-of-concept' stage for new generations of fuel injection equipment. He or she will design, develop tests, perform tests, analyse test results, write test reports and produce appropriate Product Specifications associated with the development of common rail fuel injection components for the automotive market.
The successful candidate will be expected to direct other development engineers within the team and will report to the Engineering Manager.

The Principal Engineer will hold an engineering degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent in physics with experience of developing/supporting a product successful through to volume production.

Must be capable of planning project technical activities and producing time plans.
Must understand and apply physics to the design.
Solid experience in design / development engineering.
Experience in Gasoline or Diesel fuel system components preferred SolidWorks CAD experience preferred

team interaction skills that facilitate cross-functional involvement.
Must be able to constructively deal with conflict situations.
Ability to develop and present technical presentations to customers and others.

Must be willing to travel for training, work with customers and for problem resolution on projects as necessary.
