Process Specialist – Advanced Structured Materials – Cambridge - £Neg + Benefits
A Chemical or Industrial Engineering Graduate with experience gained in a process manufacturing environment is required to process support in the specification, commissioning and developing of plant processes and products, in particular continuous mix filming processes.
Experience of working with industrial scale processes and machinery with a clear understanding of process risk and risk/hazard assessment tools (e.g. FMEA, HAZOP), particularly within a chemical production environment.
Proven experience of data analysis and data driven problem solving applied to manufacturing processes.
Duties include:
Daily monitoring of production and resolution of technical problems
The introduction of new products and support training initiatives
Maintenance of product cost models used to set manufacturing standards.
Optimisation of current processes by analysing data, developing conclusions and implementing recommendations
Preparation and maintenance of plant operating instructions
Preparation of detailed equipment, acceptance and commissioning specifications for new and modified capital equipment and to validate performance
The successful candidate must have an understanding of continuous improvement tools and methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma) along with a good level of IT literacy and working knowledge of statistical analysis.
