Program Module Sub Team (PMST) Leader

Our client has an exciting opportunity for PMST Leader who will be responsible for leadership of the Programme Module Sub-Team (PMST) and for all Product Creation System (PCS) deliverables for aspects of defined components and systems.
The company has been active in the U.K. since 1973 and from its production site in the West Midlands the company delivers chassis components to British automobile manufacturers, including Jaguar, BMW and Land Rover. The site complements its extensive expertise in production and assembly with its competence in development. Another manufacturing plant in Solihull assembles axle modules for Land Rover"s Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models.

The duties and responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
- Planning of the component design activities to meet the agreed component and systems engineering targets.
- Responsibility for establishing, planning and running the PMST meetings to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas for the project.
Establishing the team work plan and ensuring progress is made in achieving work plan by following up actions with their owners
- Ensuring that the PMST delivers their objectives and targets (technical and business), ensuring that programme timing objectives as identified in GPDS are met.
Facilitation of problem identification, definition and resolution via other engineering areas and suppliers.
- Management and tracking of all costs associated with the component piece, tooling and engineering development.
- Planning and delivery of Design Validation (DVP) activities and associated eFDVS tasks.
- Communicating team progress via the PCS Deliverables Matrix for Engineers
- Ensuring the effective application of APQP to manage system and component delivery, ensuring vehicle builds are supported with parts at the required level.
- Ensuring that issues are addressed and closed off via AIMS process, ensuring that issues that cannot be resolved at PMST level are escalated to Module Leader, identifying all risks to the programme.

In terms of skills and qualifications, a proven project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery of projects on time on budget and to agreed specification is a must in this position as well as an ability to multi-task and effectively prioritise own and others tasks. The self motivated and delivery focussed engineer will have Engineering knowledge of Chassis Suspension components and systems design, function, performance, production and manufacturing requirements.


The applicant should be confident in their ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Confidence in using Microsoft Project, Powerpoint, Excel and Word are pre-requisite and an ability to demonstrate significant experience in use of engineering tools FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution is a definite advantage.
