A CAN Network Research and Development Leader is required to work on contract for our client who specialise in luxury cars, the position will be based in the West Midlands.

Research and development engineer within Electrical Engineering department, supporting the introduction of Partial Network CAN communication to our client. The successful applicant will lead a Global Technology Development System (GTDS) project team. The GTDS project leader has the responsibility for all project management, technical, and business deliverables plus communication with the lead vehicle programme team and functional engineering groups, to enable smooth technology transfer and minimised implementation risk.

Skills Required:
Network Communication System design and analysis, relating to vehicle power supply, and vehicle power management skills. Research and development engineering. Excellent communication skills, written and oral, as well as formal report writing. Excellent organisational and project management skills.

Skills Preferred:
Technical knowledge and understanding of OEM CAN networks and "EuCD" electrical architecture. Technical knowledge and understanding of AUTOSAR CAN Network Management.

Experience Required:
Proven team leadership and project management experience. Prior experience running new technology design projects. Experience designing and testing components or systems which are integrated in OEM CAN networks.

Experience Preferred:
Experience of the GTDS process, including knowledge of GTDS gateways, deliverables and governance.

Education Required:
Educated to degree level, in a relevant field or subject.

Additional Information:
Mainly based at Gaydon, but will be required to provide occasional support at Whitley, Warwick University, and Loughborough University.
