Electronics Test Technician - Automotive - Basildon - £Neg

An Electronics Test Technician with a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent academic qualifications (e.g. BTEC, ONC, HNC, HND) with experience of working to a structured product development methodology in the automotive (or similar) sector is required to work for this automotive supplier based in Basildon Essex.

Responsibilities include:
Design, assembly and test of prototype PCBs, wiring looms and test equipment
Build, preparation and instrumentation of Units Under Test
Troubleshoot electronic systems and PCBs down to component level
Investigate failures of electronic components/systems to identify design/manufacturing issues
Assist with electrical integration of hardware and test equipment into prototype vehicles
Support Test Engineer in preparation of DV test reports

A hands on Test Technician with a sound working knowledge of PCB design, assembly and fault finding and a familiarity with use of oscilloscopes, data loggers, signal generators, bench power supplies etc.
Prior experience of structured product testing, preferably within the Automotive sector and experience of working to defined standards and requirements (e.g. ISO 9001 ,TS 16949, ISO 14001) would be considered beneficial.
