Position Description:

The role is for a P&E development leader within the Advanced Engines department. This role is to lead a team of engineers to develop the P&E and combustion attributes of an engine in order to achieve the Performance, Fuel Economy and Emissions targets. This technical leadership role requires in depth P&E and combustion knowledge, the ability to analyse test data to provide project direction and feedback information to the wider project team. Candidates must be technical leaders capable of managing a small team and providing technical guidance and decision making.

Skills Required:

Essential skills include: An in-depth knowledge of base engine systems engineering in a development / test environment. High level of communication and organisational skills An in depth knowledge of engine test methods on dyno A deep working knowledge of at least one specialised area of the engine attribute department - combustion, performance, economy or emissions development on either petrol or diesel engines.

Skills Preferred:

Good analytical skills & PC skills Excel, Word and Project Experience of using AVL Indimaster and Concerto data analysis software Working knowledge of gasoline and / or diesel engine, powertrain systems and calibration Disciplined approach on planning, prioritisation and records keeping Must have a driving license valid for use in the UK.

Experience Required:

Candidates must have gained experience within an automotive OEM or engineering consultancy and have extensive experience on base engine development projects. Experience of engine testing on dynomometers . Good communication, interpersonal skills and self-confidence are personal qualities needed to succeed, being self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.

Education Required:

Educated to degree level in a suitable engineering discipline, or suitable previous experience
